This kit was created from a simple and profound truth. Every Black child alive today is the living answer to their ancestors' prayers. Every curl on their head, every laugh that spills out of them, every dream they dare to dream is a continuation of a story that began long before they arrived and will continue long after they are gone. This kit helps them feel that truth in their hands, document it in their own words, and carry it with them as the most powerful affirmation they will ever receive.

How your family uses this kit together:

Step one: Sit down together. This kit is designed to be used with a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, or any beloved family elder who carries the stories of your family inside them. Make tea. Put on music. Create space for something meaningful.

Step two: Begin with the prompt cards. Let the questions open the conversation gently. There are no wrong answers and no incomplete families. Every family has a story worth telling.

Step three: Document on the heritage map. As stories emerge write names, places, memories, and meaningful details on the illustrated family tree. Let your child illustrate the map with the watercolor pencils and heritage stickers in their own unique way.

Step four: Mark the discoveries. Every meaningful family story, every name learned, every tradition uncovered gets a gold star seal on the heritage map. Watch the map fill with stars and know that each one represents a moment of connection between your child and the generations that made them.
